Free Comic Book Day comics are given away for free at participating comic book stores, and are not typically considered to be valuable collectibles. However, some of these issues have become sought after by collectors and fans, with a few rare issues being sold for pretty high prices. Here are the top 10 most valuable Free Comic Book Day comics released over the past 20+ years.

The Walking Dead: Free Comic Book Day (2013) – $5

This issue features a reprint of the first issue of the popular comic series, as well as a preview of the then-upcoming “All Out War” storyline.

Civil War II: Free Comic Book Day (2016) – $5

First appearance: Wasp (Nadia Pym)

In addition to introducing Nadia Pym to the Marvel Universe, this issue served as a prelude to the Civil War II event and featured two stories. The first story focuses on the aftermath of a superhero’s death and the trial of Hawkeye, while the second story centers around the hero’s funeral and sets up a new status quo for the Marvel Universe.

This one features two stories, one set during the events of The Empire Strikes Back, and another set in the era of the High Republic. The issue included a preview of the new ongoing Star Wars series, and introduced a handful of new characters into the Star Wars canon.

The Amazing Spider-Man: Free Comic Book Day (2007) – $15

First Appearance: Jackpot (Sara Ehret), Mister Negative (Martin Li) (cameo)

More first appearances, this one for the minor character of Jackpot and a cameo of the slightly more major villain Mister Negative, the storyline saw Spider-Man teaming up with the Avengers to stop the Kang The Conqueror. It also includes previewed of other Marvel Comics series, and featured backup stories that provided insight into Spider-Man’s history and mythology.

Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures: Free Comic Book Day (2004) – $25

More first appearances, and Star Wars fans LOVE their first appearances! The story follows Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano as she goes on a mission to rescue a group of kidnapped children.
